Too much information can distract one from the essence of things. We need to see things from a broader perspective rather than focusing too much on detail. For instance, in portrait photography, it’s well known that minimizing information (in the form of shooting black and white) usually enhances the expression of the person portrayed. Or you can subtract information by blurring parts of the entire image to lead the views to see what’s important.
